David L Michael, 62, passed away peacefully July 17, 2016 after a year-long battle with liver disease. He was born to Leonard J & Evelyn L (Hillabrand) Michael in 1954. A 1972 DeVilbiss graduate, he was active in choir and musical productions. He was a member of several bands in the 70’s, one being Young Folk. He started working in the family business, Michael Photo/Blue Ribbon Photo, developing film. He became sales manager and company Vice President in later years. When the family business closed in Oct 2003, he then worked for Castle Photo until the passing of his 2nd wife Joyce (Lynn) Cramer in 2010. David is also preceded in death by his parents and a brother, John. David is survived by daughter Angela Wallace, her mother Caren Ganzert; granddaughters Lauren and Madison; David & Lynn’s sons John and Alex; brothers Bill (Joan), Joe (Cindy); sisters Pat (Fred) Leachman, Vicki (Don) Means, Connie Lange, and many nieces and nephews. David was a die-hard Ohio State Buckeyes & Detroit Tigers fan and bowled in several leagues in Toledo, always striving for that elusive 300 game. He enjoyed listening to music his entire life. David was fortunate to have devoted in-home hospice care provided by his sister Connie and ProMedica Hospice for the past three weeks. The family appreciates the excellent care and services of those who assisted David thru his journey. Friends may call on July 20, 2016 from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania (west of Corey Rd) where funeral services will be on Thursday, July 21, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. Following David’s wishes, he will be cremated and buried with Lynn at St. Paul’s Cemetery, Paulding OH. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to David’s children, ProMedica Hospice, or the charity of your choice. GO BUCKS! (Go blue).
