David Allan Mcphail

David A. “Captain Dave” McPhail, 85, of Port Clinton, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on Thursday, December 8, 2022. He was born October 12, 1937, in Fairview, Ohio, the son of the late John D. and Caterine (Schindler) McPhail. He is survived by his wife Stephanie (Pruski), the love of his life.

Dave graduated from John Marshall High School and went on to receive a degree in Production Management from Baldwin Wallace University. He was the owner of Xcel Metal Stamping, Brookpark, Ohio, Dependable Metal Stamping, Cleveland, Ohio, and Superior Tool, Cleveland, Ohio. He retired in 2000. Following retirement, Dave enjoyed boating, skiing, traveling, and spending the winter months in Naples, Florida.

Survivors include his family, Jennifer (Steven) Trueman, Joshua Gilmore, Jeremy Gilmore, Hailey (Desean) Davis, Robert (Karen) McPhail, Megan McPhail, Molly (Aristide) Swadaogo, Emma McPhail, Cameron McPhail, and Sophie Swadaogo.

Per Dave’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life dinner will be held at a later date.
