David J. Maier, Sr.

David J. Maier Sr, age 68, of Wauseon formerly of Toledo, passed away on February 19, 2012 at Defiance Inpatient Hospice. David was born September 14, 1943 to Joseph and Eva Baucom Maier. Dave married Myra Holt on February 25, 1961. Saturday would have been their 51st wedding anniversary . He was a Senior Pipefitter for Columbia Gas Company where he retired after 32 years. Dave enjoyed spending time with his family and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was the family handyman and carpenter and had a passion for working on cars. Dave is survived by his wife Myra; daughter, Linda Randy; son Joseph Roxanne; sisters, Theresa Bart Bartkiewiczi and Sue Jim Huss; daughter-in-law, Sally; grandchildren, Adrienne, Adam, Brandon and Malisa and constant companions, Lazlo and Morris. In addition to his parents, Dave was preceded in by his sons, Robert Maier, infant death and David Maier Jr. . Family and friends may call at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Ave on Thursday, February 23, 2012 from 2:00-8:00pm with funeral services at 7:30 pm. There will be a private interment at Highland Memory Gardens.
