David Mark Littin , Jr.

November 7, 1943 — May 13, 2023

David Mark Littin, Jr., 79, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away on May 13, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. David was born on November 7, 1943, in Toledo, Ohio, to his late parents David M., Sr. and Marjorie R. (Holmes) Littin where he grew up. Dave attended DeVilbiss High School and soon after met who would become his future wife, Carol (Steck), through a mutual friend. He and Carol got married on March 7, 1964, and have happily celebrated 59 years of marriage together. The two were married in Most Blessed Sacrament Parish in Toledo.

After high school, Dave worked for Yarders Manufacturing for a couple of years before settling into his career at LOF (Pilkington) in Rossford, Ohio, where he worked maintenance in the glass industry for over 40 years until retirement. He was a member of the Eagles of Bryan, OH, Sylvania Moose Lodge, Adams Conservation Club, Sir Isaac’s Hunting Club of Delta, OH, as well as the Hillsdale Legion, and enjoyed spending time with those organizations in his spare time.

Dave and Carol had three children together and his family meant everything to him. He was always there to support his children throughout the years and was a reliable man who would do anything for his friends. He was a proud grandpa to his two grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was certainly a straight shooter who would tell you how it was, even if you didn’t want to hear it. He was a talker and had a loud, strong voice that could be heard in every conversation. Dave also had a love for fishing, hunting, and camping. Every deer season, he and his sons took an annual hunting trip for a week where they would make so many memories. He also loved fishing and staying at his parent's lake house on Baw Beese Lake in Hillsdale, MI, was a huge sports fan, and reliably rooted for The Ohio State Buckeyes. His wife was the best cook, and among his favorite foods were chocolate, ice cream, and steak. He was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, and friend, and will be dearly missed by all of those who loved him.

Dave is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Carol Littin; children, David Littin, III, Ted Littin, Dawn (Eric) Gardner; grandchildren, Randall Littin (Melanie), Miles Gardner; great-grandchildren, Jacinda, Jeremiah, Jonathan, Isaiah, Gabriel, Chloe, and Reyann Littin; as well as many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter-in-law, Denise Littin.
