David A. Lindhorst

David A. Lindhorst, 73, of Oregon, Ohio, passed away at home on Wednesday, November 2, 2022. He was born in Toledo, Ohio on May 15, 1949, the son of Harold and Vera (Baker) Lindhorst. David entered the Air National Guard in 1971 and served for 22 years retiring at the rank of Master Sergeant. David was a deputy for the Lucas County Sheriff’s Department for over 27 years from 1983 until his retirement in 2011.

David was an active member of the sheriff’s department serving as a training /certification and conceal carry officer for the shooting range. He also served as a dive instructor for the Lucas County Search & Rescue Department. After he retired, David provided private security services and worked for the City of Toledo Parks and Recreation Department mowing grass. In his spare time, David rode his motorcycle and was a member of the Warthogs Motorcycle Club, enjoyed fishing in Lake Erie, deer hunting, cooking, grilling, camping, swimming and being out in the sun. He was also an avid Ohio State University football fan.

David is survived by his children, Todd Lindhorst, Amy (Grant) Owens, Ken (Heather) Mullins, Eddie Curry, Heather (Tony) Orth, Amanda (Daniel) Rountree, and Tonya Curry, 19 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, beloved partner in life, Antoinette Bourn, and sister, Janice (Douglas) Andrzejewski. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation for David will be from 2:00-5:00 PM, Sunday, November 6, 2022, at the Walker Funeral Home, 3500 Navarre Ave., Oregon, Ohio. A funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 AM, Monday, in the funeral home followed by interment in the Ottawa Hills Memorial Park Cemetery, Toledo.
