David R. Korecki

David R. Korecki, loving family man and friend to all those whose lives he touched, left this life on September 18, 2016 at the age of 57. Dave was born on November 24, 1958 to Conrad Anthony and Betty Ruth (Kimball) Korecki who both proceeded him in death as did his sister, Lisa Ann Dix. Dave was a 1976 graduate of Macomber / Whitney VoTech High School. He is a Toledo Jeep retiree having worked at all three Toledo facilities during his employment there from 1977 to 2009. Dave spent most of his time at Jeep as an automotive mechanic where he properly earned the nickname “Einstein” for his eccentric genius with automotive mechanical and electrical repair as well as his wild hair in those days. He was no doubt one of Jeep’s finest. After his retirement Dave worked for Fram Filters in Perrysburg as a call center rep where he gave technical support to their customers. He enjoyed helping in this way a great deal. Dave loved his family time, fixing cars for everyone and being outdoors. He faced his illness with great courage and integrity never concerned for himself but only for those around him. Dave is survived by his wife, Susan Marie; stepchildren, Andrew, Tiffany and Tasha Downard and Tanya Schroeder; grandchildren, Ashley and Sierra Downard, Xander, Samantha and Ayden Schroeder, Brian and Faith Mowry, Destiny, Andrew, Anthony and Dominic Koralewski; niece; Kaleigh Elizabeth Albright; nephews, Matthew, Bruce and Zachary; and close friends, Jeff Powers and Brian Warner. A gathering for David will take place at 10108 County Rd. 3, Swanton, Ohio 43558 on Sunday, September, 25 2016 at 1 PM. Contributions in his memory may be sent to the Korecki Family.
