David Hitchcock, born September 17, 1951, passed away on April 23, 2025, at the age of 73.
A deeply thoughtful and intelligent man, Dave had a curious mind and a passion for the mysteries of the universe. In his later years, he devoted himself to writing a book exploring astrology and tarot—subjects that reflected his deep interest in understanding the connections between the cosmos and the human spirit.
Dave’s greatest joy came from caring for those he loved. He was a devoted son to his parents, Harold and Linda Hitchcock, and a gentle, loving presence in the lives of his family. He also shared a special bond with his three pit bulls, who brought him comfort and companionship throughout the years.
He spent a portion of his career working at Jeep, but it was the people and passions outside of work that truly defined his life.
Dave will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and honored for the life he lived with heart and thoughtfulness.
David is survived by his wife, Mary Hitchcock; children, Christopher Hitchcock and Raven (Dracarys) Dodsbringer; and sister, Lauranell Burch.
Friends and family are invited to visit at Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Ave, Toledo, on Friday, May 9, 2025, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., where a service celebrating David’s life will begin at 7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Villalobos Rescue Center.
