David Richard Henry, passed away Thursday, November 8, 2018 in Toledo, Ohio. He was born October 6, 1986 in the city of Wayne, Michigan. He graduated from Franklin High School in Livonia, Michigan with the class of 2004. David had a true lust for life, he was one of those few people who seldom had a bad day. He enjoyed going on adventures in the wilderness with his wife, Ashley and their dog, Boozer. He loved to spend summers at his family cottage in Lexington, MI along the shores of Lake Huron. David enjoyed simple things like sunny days, and spending time in his garden. He loved to grow vegetables and sunflowers. His most impressive crop were his tomatoes; and even more impressive was the salsa he made from them. He also had a great deal of pets to care for in his lifetime, lots of cats, dogs and fish, but also rats, mice, and birds. David cared about the lives of all creatures, big or small. He also cared about people, so much so that he became an organ donor as soon as he could. He helped add sunshine to copious lives, even after his passing. David throughly enjoyed life and giving back, but the greatest gift he gave was music. He was an extremely talented singer and songwriter, he also enjoyed playing guitar, but his true love was the piano. It would not be unusual to be woken up to the sound of him playing the piano he kept in his kitchen, and the smell of coffee. He spent a long stretch of time touring the country with his band “Forever In A Day”. He then spent years playing throughout Michigan with his band “Bronze Mambas” and as a solo artist known as “David Bronze”. His favorite places to entertain were in Detroit and Port Huron. He touched many lives through his music, attracting lifelong friendships with his talent and lighthearted attitude. David truly was a light and reminded everyone not to take life too seriously. He is survived by his wife, Ashley Juran; mother, Marian Henry; father David (Candy) Henry; sister, Dana Henry; grandmother, Joan Henry; grandfather, Richard Willard; uncles Mike Willard, David (Pam) Willard, Donald (Cheryl) Henry; his aunt Laura (Don) Bourdeau; cousins Thomas (Ashley) Sliwa, Tarra (RJ) Sliwa, Austin Henry and Alicia Henry and numerous extended family and friends. He is preceded in death by his grandfather Thomas Henry, grandmother Jeanette Willard, and uncle George Willard. “Nature’s first green is gold, Her hardest hue to hold. Her early leaf’s a flower; But only so an hour. Then leaf subsides to leaf. So Eden sank to grief, So dawn goes down to day. Nothing gold can stay.” Nothing Gold Can Stay Robert Frost 1923
