David Elliott Day

April 17, 1962 — September 6, 2024

David E. Day, 62, of Port Clinton, OH passed away after an extended illness on Friday, September 6, 2024 at his home with his loving wife, Jenny by his side. David was born on April 17, 1962 in Bristol, CT to Roger and Joan (Daly) Day.


David graduated from Port Clinton High School in 1980 and started college at Bluffton University and then graduated from Ohio Northern University in 1985. He fulfilled his career working as a pharmacist in Port Clinton for 32 years and retired from Green’s Pharmacy in 2017.


David enjoyed hiking, golfing, cycling, and running, which he participated in cross country in high school and college. He loved to travel and enjoyed visiting the Smokey Mountains and hiking the trails. His family and friends were very important to him. His dry sense of humor and the little comments and remarks he would make will be greatly missed. The family referred to them as “David-ism’s”, which will always be treasured.


David is survived by his wife, Jennifer (Hodge) whom he married on October 1, 2010, along with her daughter, Sara (Ricky Dimon) Williams, grandchildren, Adam and Leah, his father, Roger Day, siblings, Doug Day, Ted (Denise) Day, Tom (Gigi) Day, and Beverly (Scott) Ohm, a nephew, and several nieces. He was preceded in death by his mother, Joan Day.


A celebration of life for David will be conducted by his family at a later date. Memorial contributions in memory of David can be given to Stein Hospice, Sandusky, OH. Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, Port Clinton, OH is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.walkerfuneralhomes.com.
