David P Clark

David Paul Clark, 76, of Walbridge, passed away Sunday, July 27, 2014, at his home. David was born August 5, 1937, to Paul Frederick and Arliene Louise (Thornton) Clark at St. Vincent’s Hospital. The family originally resided in Toledo before settling in Walbridge, Ohio. He graduated from Lake High School in 1955 and was employed with CSX Railroad, retiring in 1997. He married Carol (Huber) on June 4, 1965, in Walbridge. Dave was very active in youth sports in Walbridge, continuing in the tradition of his father, Paul. He was one of the founding coaches for the girl’s softball program, touching many lives in his 15+ years as a coach. He also coached boys and girls basketball at St. Jerome’s Grade School for many years. David was very proud of his service in the Marine Corp. The only thing that made him more proud was his family and their accomplishments. He enjoyed traveling the country with his family, visiting extended family and friends. David was preceded in death by his parents. Surviving is his wife of 49 years, Carol; sister, Norma (Mike) Bruning of Perrysburg; children, Andrea Martin (Sean Gasser), Cynthia (Todd) Farrow of Dayton and Matthew of Toledo; grandchildren, Amanda, Mary, Gabrielle and Jon Farrow of Dayton; in addition to many beloved in-laws, nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 4-8 P.M. Thursday, July 31, 2014 at Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, 701 N. Main Street, Walbridge, Ohio, where funeral services will be held Friday, August 1, 2014 at 11 A.M. with Pastor Terry Smith officiating. Additional visitation will be available one hour prior to the funeral services; burial will follow in Lake Township Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, the family requests you consider a memorial gift to the sports programs at Lake High School in Millbury or Cardinal Stritch/Kateri in Oregon.
