David B. Carter, 61, of Toledo, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 13, 2020. He was born in Cleveland, OH to James and Beverly (Jones) Carter on December 11, 1958. Dave joined the United States Air Force where he met his wife, Lucinda Shaffer. After his time in the service, Dave worked for many years in the heating and cooling industry, then began at Omnicare Distribution as a forklift operator. He was a devout family man and a hard worker. He loved the outdoors and golfing; especially with close friends and family. Dave could always be found watching a good movie or playing a competitive board game. He loved camping and sitting around the bonfire. Dave was passionate about his fantasy football league with his family. Dave was an avid Ohio sports fan; Buckeyes, Indians, and Browns- even through the painful years. Left to cherish Daves memory are his wife and best friend, Lucinda; children, Michelle (Jamie) Frohne, Melissa (Chris) Gray, Matthew (Lorrie) Carter; grandchildren, Spencer Gray, Gus Frohne, Marissa Frohne, Iris Gray, Chloe Carter, Aubrey Carter, Penelope Rose Gray, Elliot Gray, Daisy Gray, Kinsley Carter; mother, Beverly Carter; brother, Mike Carter; sisters, Jami (Rob) Wyrick, Dot (Rick) Gingue; several nieces, nephews; and countless friends and coworkers. He was preceded in death by his father, James Carter. Due to the current health pandemic, a Celebration of Life for Dave will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make a charitable donation to a cancer research fund of your choice.
