David R. Caig

David R. Caig, 61, of Perrysburg, Ohio passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at St. Vincent Hospital. He was born in New Castle, Indiana on November 27, 1956 to Robert and Martha (Cole) Caig. David worked in transportation management. David married Debra Mastrobuono on September 14, 1979 and together they raised their kids. David was a family man and was an avid baseball and softball umpire at the high school and college levels. He enjoyed Michigan sports, motorcycles and he loved nature and being outdoors. David loved dogs, especially his beagles, Rose, Abigail and Jack. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and uncle who will be greatly missed. David is survived by his wife, Debbie Caig; son, Joseph (Amanda) Caig; daughter, Jennifer (Torey) Hovest; grandchildren, Brady Caig and Landon Hovest; brother, Thomas (Kathy) Caig; sister, Cynthia (Kevin) McAdams; mother-in-law, Marion Mastrobuono and many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and father-in-law, Donald Mastrobuono. Friends will be received at Witzler Shank Funeral Home, 222 E. South Boundary St., Perrysburg, Ohio 43551 (419-874-3133) on Friday, October 5, 2018 from 4:00 PM-8:00 PM with a Scripture Service at 7:00 PM. Prayers will be recited at the funeral home on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at 9:15 AM with a Funeral Mass to be held at 10:00 AM in St. Rose Catholic Church, 215 E. Front St., Perrysburg.
