David Berton Miller died peacefully on June 11th in Dallas, TX at the age of 76. He is survived by his children Christina and David Miller, Jennifer (Mark) Lentini, Anna (Andrew) Goodman and Janina Miller; his grandchildren Bronson and Brandi Lentini, Brianna Miller, and Aubrey Goodman; his step-children Cheryl (Mike) Butters, Charles “Joe” and Robert “Danny” Mann; his step-grandchildren Jennifer (Joseph) Palakiko, Robby Mann, David Allen and Brenda “Gracie” Alvarez, Joey Mann, Nichole (Surge) Huapaya and Daniel “DJ” Ryel; his step-great grandchildren Jordan Davis, Emily, Ethan, Olivia and Joseph Palakiko, Keirrah and Joseph Mann, Garrit and Daniel Huapaya, and Kristy Ryel. He is preceded in death by his parents Charles Carroll and Mae Murrell Miller, and his wife Brenda Miller. David was a dedicated lawman and devoted over thirty years of service to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department where he retired as a Sergeant with an honorable and distinguished career. The ongoing support and love that other deputy sheriffs have shown during this time has been a testament to his law enforcement career. David was also a true hobbyist and loved being a marksman, woodworking, fishing and boating. During his retirement, he held the job of Harbor Master at Lake Mohave Resort in Bullhead City, AZ. David spent many years throughout his childhood and retirement in Port Clinton, Ohio, which he always considered his home and where he chose to be buried. A graveside service is scheduled for 10:00 AM on Saturday, July 14th at Riverview Cemetery. Father John Missler will officiate the ceremony.
