Darryl Bittner

Darryl C. “Speed” Bittner, 81, of Genoa, OH passed away Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.  He was born on February 9, 1941 in Linden, MI to Ellsworth and Viola (Smith) Bittner.  On April 5, 1980 at the Genoa Christian Church, Genoa he married Sharon (Colyer), and she survives.  Darryl retired from J&S Industrial Machine.  He had served previously as a Genoa Village Councilman for 22 years and on the Allen-Clay Joint Fire District Board for 17 years.  Darryl was a 60+ year member of the Genoa Masonic Lodge and lifelong NRA supporter.  He loved his garden and mowing his grass and also mowing for others as well.  Darryl would help anyone in need.

In addition to his loving wife of 42 years, Sharon, he is survived by his children, Stacia (David) Pigman of Holgate, OH, Julie (Dennis) Rose of Berea, KY, and Richard (Pam) Bittner of Bowling Green, OH, step-children, Lisa (Doug) Stringham of Genoa, Michelle Smith of Moline, and Ronald (Kim) Potridge of Perrysburg, brother, Wayne (Sheila) Bittner of Linden, MI, sister, Betty Downing of Wilmington, NC, brother-in-law, Donald (Nancy) Colyer of Genoa, sisters-in-law, Arlene (Glen) Slusher of Perrysburg and Diane Colyer of Genoa, 16 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, and nieces & nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers-in-law, Tom Downey and Bill Colyer, son-in-law, Greg Smith, cousin, Sonny Snow, and best buddies, Munch and Molly.
