Darrell R. Crane

April 12, 1977 — September 29, 2022

Darrell R. Crane, 45, of Graytown, OH passed away Thursday, September 29, 2022, surrounded by family at the Toledo Hospital. He was born on April 12, 1977, in Toledo, OH to William and Kathleen (Peace) Crane. Darrell was hit by a car at the age of 8 and suffered injuries that disabled him for life. He enjoyed being with his family and lived with his parents until his mom died in 2009. Darrell continued to be cared for by family to receive the kind of care and love only family can provide. Darrell entertained the family as much as they entertained him. He enjoyed being in a hammock and using his tablet for watching his favorite drama and action shows. Darrell also enjoyed stories being read to him by his nieces & nephews, listening to country, Michael Jackson and the latest gossip. Darrell touched a lot of people’s lives through his 45 years on earth. Darrell was a fighter till his very last breathe. He taught his family as much as they taught him, and most importantly he helped teach what unconditional love for one another should be. Darrell’s many lessons of Empathy, Compassion, Advocating, Discernment, and (outside the box thinking) will continue to live on through his family and the people he touched along the way. In addition to that, because Darrell defied all odds, he taught the entire medical field new perspectives and different ways to treat and care for their patients. Darrell will undeniably be missed.

Darrell is survived by his father, William Crane; sister, Charlene (Chuck) Rook; nieces & nephews, Meridian (Joey) Smith and their daughter, Emma; Jason (April) Rook and their children, Vada & Autumn; Rick (Courtney Logan) Rook; Katherine Rook and her children, Maddie & Gabe; Jennie Rook; Carla (Joe Graves) Rook; Sally Rook; Cody (Emma) Rook and their son, Ezekiel; Tyler Rook; Michelle Rook; and Markus Barker. He was preceded in death by his mother, Kathleen Crane.
