Darles June Tucker

Darles June Tucker, age 84, of Ottawa Lake, Michigan died on March 3, 2018 at Ebeid Hospice Residence, Sylvania. Darles was born April 24, 1933 in Forest, Ohio, the loving daughter of Helen Howell. She attended Scott High School where she met and later married her husband of nearly 66 years, Norman L. Tucker. Darles worked for Tiedtke’s before starting her family and raising seven children. After raising her family, Darles resumed her career, working at The Hylant Group for over 30 years before retiring at the age of 80. She endeared herself to many friends at Hylant and was known for her welcoming smile, quick sense of humor and ability to make her coworkers laugh with her jokes. Darles was a selfless pillar of strength and the biggest joy of her life was her family. She was extremely proud of all her children and grandchildren and loved spending time with her family as much as possible. Every day she lived her life to make each of her family members feel special and loved. Darles will always be remembered by each of us as our biggest cheerleader, best confidant, and our kind and quick-witted best friend. Darles is survived by her loving husband, Norman Tucker; brother, Norman Arnold (JoAnn); step brother, Danny Howell; children, Michelle, Forrest, Lori (Jeff), Jeff (Sue), Tracy (Skip), Kristi (John), and Jennifer (Aaron); grandchildren, Ryan, Ross, Andy, Lindsay, Mead, Ian, Celia, Ella, and Emmett; and great grandchildren, Knox, Aubrey and twin girls due in April. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. in the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania, Ave. (west of Corey Rd.). Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, March 8, 2018 at McCord Road Christian Church, 4765 McCord Rd., where additional visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service. Entombment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park. Memorial contributions are suggested to Ebeid Hospice.
