Darlene Joy Riley, 76, of Maumee, died Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at St. Lukes Hospital with her family by her side. A native of Toledo, she was born July 25, 1935 to the late Harry Dean and Delcie Sylvia Birr Woodcock. She married Donald R. Riley on June 20, 1953 in Toledo and he lovingly survives. Also surviving are her three beloved sons, Tim, Tom Karen and Todd Eileen; grandchildren, Brooke, Matthew Stacey, and Andrew Elizabeth Riley; great grandson, Finn; sister, Edith Johnson; brother, Donald Patricia Woodcock; and many wonderful family and friends including dear friends, Linda Norman and Nelda Wise. She was also preceded in death by brothers, John and David Woodcock; and sister, Suzanne Hawthorne. A 1953 graduate of Toledo Libbey High School, Darlene was a homemaker. She was an active member of Heritage Church of God in Maumee including service as an usher, greeter, and member of the hospitality group. Darlene was a skilled artist and will be remembered for her optimistic, caring and giving nature. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother who was always present for her family. Her presence will be dearly missed but she will never be forgotten. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 17, 2011 at Heritage Church of God, 3520 Strayer Road, Maumee, OH 43537. Private interment will take place at Toledo Memorial Park. The family requests in lieu of flowers that memorials be made to the church.
