Darla Kae Northrop

Darla Kae Northrop, age 63, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, June 9, 2022, in her home. Darla was born on June 8, 1959, in Toledo, Ohio, the daughter of Robert and Irma (Hobberchalk) Quackenbush, and they precede her in death. Darla was a high school graduate of Rogers High School, in Toledo, and was the owner and deputy registrar of the Oregon License Bureau for many years until her retirement in 2020. Darla enjoyed traveling. She especially loved her many trips to Fort Myers, and Aruba, where she spent much of her time relaxing on the beach. Darla also loved to sing and spent many years cheering on her children at many sporting events. Most of all, she cherished her free time spent with her family and friends. She was a beloved mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by many.

Those left to cherish her memory include, two sons, Lance (Dia Lenz) Northrop, and Daniel (Kerri) Northrop, stepson Brian Stanfa; grandchildren, Cain and Abel Northrop, Andrew, Braylin, Tucker and Carter Northrop, Marley and Conner Stanfa; siblings, Sherie Nowak, and Lisa (Michael) Clark; many nieces and nephews; ex-husband and father of her children, Kenneth Northrop. Darla is preceded in death by her husband, Chris Stanfa, who passed away on February 20, 2019, and sister, Bobbi (Gilbert) Mancillas.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, from 3:00-6:00 PM, at Walker Funeral Home, 5155 West Sylvania, Avenue, Toledo, Ohio.  A memorial service will follow immediately after. Interment will take place at Toledo Memorial Park.

Memorial contributions have been suggested to the family to arrange college funds for Darla’s grandchildren. Checks can be made out to her son and executor, Daniel Northrop.
