Danny Gene Russell

Danny Gene Russell, 64, of Port Clinton, OH, passed away unexpectedly, Wed, March 2, 2011 at H. B. Magruder Hospital. Danny was born March 28, 1946 in Herrin, IL, the son of Carl D. and Dorothy A. Lewis Russell. On November 01, 1997 in Port Clinton, he married Joanna Mattox and she survives. He was self employed as a hardwood floor installer for over 30 years. Danny was a member of the Port Clinton Bible Methodist Church. He loved hunting, fishing and camping and in his youth, motorcycle racing. Danny especially loved spending time with his kids and grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends. Survivors include: Loving Wife: Joanna Russell of Port Clinton; Son: Dean Alan Russell of Fort Lauderdale, FL; Daughters: Christina J. Dale Elmes of Cosby, TN and Melanie L. John Jones Terry of Sullivan, OH; Grandchildren: Meagan, Matthew, Samantha, Tabitha and Sabrina Russell, Christina & Jessica Elmes, James Taylor, Justine, Jeremy, Jessica, Ashley and Anna Jones and Kayla Terry; Great-Grandchildren: Edwin Jose Velez, Jr., Christiona Fenton and Kaelynn Paramore. Danny was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Carl R. Russell and Butch Russell, sisters: Helen Waller and Linda Cunningham. Visitation will be from 4-8PM, Monday, March 07, 2011 in the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, Port Clinton, OH. Funeral services will be held conducted by Pastor Deron Fourman at 11:00AM, Tuesday, March 08th in the funeral home. Interment will be in Catawba Island Cemetery, Port Clinton, OH. Memorial contributions in memory of Danny may be given to the family.
