Danny Dwayne Harris

Danny Dwayne Harris, age 70, of Maumee, OH, passed away peacefully on October 29, 2024, at Mercy Perrysburg Hospital. He was born January 5, 1954, in Toledo to Jack and Billie (Marlow) Harris. Danny grew up in Holland, OH. He served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1972. On July 9, 1983, he married Tammy (Beaverson), who preceded him in death on December 27, 2023, after 40 years of marriage. They became longtime residents of Grand Rapids, OH, where he and his wife raised their family in the quiet countryside. He loved working in the yard with Tammy. Danny treasured spending time with his 3 grandsons and had a great relationship with his siblings. Danny retired from Jeep after 35 years of dedicated service.

He had a captivating sense of humor, always cherishing ways to make people laugh. He was a longtime lover of road trips- driving his kids and grandkids all over the Midwest for family vacations. He savored visiting the mountains and spending time by the water. Danny was a lucky man and enjoyed radio contests, the daily lotto and spending time with Tammy at the casino. Danny always reliably answered the call to help any member of his family, and the good neighbors he made over the years, with anything – big and small. He loved serving and taking care of others in many ways.

Danny was preceded in death by his loving wife, Tammy, his parents, his sister Wilma and his brother Gary. He is survived by his children, Danyal Harris (Sean Bunker) and Jason (Missy) Harris; grandchildren, Isaiah and Nicholas Harris, Jaxon Bunker; step-grandchildren, Lily and Hannah Bunker; sisters, Wanda (Everett) Spangler, Rhonda Jordan and Jill (Tyree) Smith; brother, Jack (Kim) Harris; along with many nieces, nephews, extended-family and friends.

All family and friends will be received on Sunday, November 3, 2024, between 1-3 p.m. at Sunrise Life Celebrations - Holland (formerly Neville Funeral Home), 7438 Airport Hwy, Holland, OH 43528 (419-664-5108) where funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. that day. A private burial will be at a later date. He will be laid to rest, next to his wife Tammy, at Lauber Hill Cemetery in Archbold, OH.
