Danny H. Barker, 57, of Port Clinton, passed away unexpectedly, Tues, Feb 01, 2011 at his residence. He was born on March 25, 1953 in Applachian, VA, the son of Fred Barker and Virginia Maggard Bevins. On July 07, 1992 in Port Clinton, he married Carlene White Barker and she preceded him in death on March 01, 2009. Danny worked as an orderly at Magruder Hospital, a grounds keeper at Fort Firelands and a supervisor for NRA at Camp Perry, Port Clinton. He loved gardening, landscaping, playing poker, corn hole and bowling. But his greatest joy was spending time with his family. Danny was a people person and he never met a stranger. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends. Survivors include: Mother: Virginia Bevins of Port Clinton; Sons: Danny Ray Barker of Churchill, TN and Michael Barker of Port Clinton; Daughter: Michelle Barker of Port Clinton; Sisters: Shirly Larry Geist of PA, Carolyn Ray Royster of Oak Harbor and Marcella David Mowel of Port Clinton; Grandchildren: Caleb Barker, Brandon Seamon, Tim Vance Jr., Cheyenne Ontko, Mikey Abby Barker and Blake Barker; Special Uncle: Coy Barker of Chicago; Mother of his children: Joyce Ball Bachtel of TN and Special Friend: Kay Williams of Port Clinton. Danny was preceded in death by his father, wife, brother: Bobby Witt, step-father: Willard Barnette, best friends: Bruce Johnson and Tim Vance Sr. Visitation will be 1-4PM, Sunday, Feb 06, 2011 at Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home Crematory, Port Clinton, OH. Funeral services will be conducted by Pastor Earl Taylor at 4:00PM, following visitation in the funeral home. Memorial contributions in memory of Danny may be directed to Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home, 216 Washington St, Port Clinton, to help the family with funeral expenses.
