Daniel G. Vidra, 85, of Rossford, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 2, 2024, at Flower Hospital, Sylvania, Ohio. Daniel was born in Rossford on January 14, 1939, the son of Florian and Mary (Traycik) Vidra. His first wife, Judy Vidra preceded him in death and on November 10, 1984, he married Charlene (Sarra). After high school he went to work for Zurn Industries, of Toledo, where he spent the next 53 years of his career. He retired in 2010 as manager for the company.
Daniel was an avid golfer and enjoyed watching the sport in person or on television as well. Hunting was another sport he devoted much time to, especially deer hunting. His family enjoyed the many meals of venison his hunting provided. Daniel was a birdwatcher as well and had been a member of the Knights of Columbus in Rossford.
Daniel is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Charlene, children, Daniel (Denise) Vidra, Caroline (Bob) Jarrett, Andrew (Keri) Vidra, Matthew (Jodi) Vidra, Rachel (Tony) Baczewski, Chelsea (Jim) Sanders, 14 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, along with many nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Florian & Mary, first wife, Judy, brother, Leonard Vidra and sisters, Helen Springer and Cecilia Kujawa.
Services for Daniel will be scheduled for a later date. The Sujkowski-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory of Rossford, Ohio is assisting with arrangements.
