Dr. Daniel J. Strickland, DDS, 71, of Perrysburg, Ohio, passed away on September 24, 2017 at Ebeid Hospice after a brief illness. Daniel was born on April 13, 1946 to James and Katherine (Frazier) Strickland in Middletown, Ohio. He graduated from Middletown High School, and received both his Bachelors and DDS from The Ohio State University. He married the love of his life, Janice C. Eisel on July 3, 1970 in Swanton, Ohio. He served in the Navy during the Vietnam War. Dr. Strickland was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church and volunteered as an usher for many years. He was a passionate Ohio State fan and was active in the alumni association. He loved baseball, and was an avid Detroit Tigers fan. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, and was a past President of The Toledo Dental Society. In the aftermath of 9/11/01, Dr Strickland volunteered at Ground Zero identifying victims through dental x-rays. He also did some consulting work for the Lucas County Coroner’s office throughout the years, helping identify victims using dental records. Dr. Strickland is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Janice; children Sarah (Eric) Glinski, Elizabeth (Jeff) Keith, Michael (Elise) Strickland, and Marcus Strickland; grandchildren Oliver, Myles, and Kensington Keith, and Logan Strickland. He is preceded in death by his parents. Friends and family are welcome for visitation at Witzler-Shank Funeral Home 222 E. S. Boundary St. Perrysburg, Ohio 43551 (419-874-3133) Friday September 29, 2017 from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a scripture service at 7:00 pm. Services will be held Saturday September 30, 2017 10:00 am at St. Rose Catholic Church. Memorial contributions in Dr. Strickland’s name may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation or Ebeid Hospice.
