Daniel C. Smith

March 16, 1943 — May 19, 2015

Daniel Coyle Smith, age 72, passed away Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at Ebeid Hospice Residence in Sylvania, OH.  Dan was born March 16, 1943 in Toledo to Coyle and Ruth (McMann) Smith.  He was a 1962 graduate of DeVilbiss High School and served in the National Guard from 1963-1969.  Dan married Carol J. Petee on July 10, 1965.  He built a career in sales,  working for various companies throughout the Toledo area.  Following his retirement, Dan took a position as a courier for ProMedica at Wildwood Medical Center, a job he truly enjoyed.  Dan was an avid golfer and cherished spending time with his beloved grandchildren.   He will be remembered for his friendly, outgoing personality and as a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Dan is survived by his wife, Carol; sons, Dan (Bonnie) and Derek (Kayleen); grandchildren, Samantha, Ally, Braeden, Ava, and Ella Smith; sisters, Carla Peters and Becky Hill; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey Rd.) Friday, May 22, 2015 from 5-9:00 pm and Saturday from noon until the time of service at 1:00pm.  Memorial contributions may be made to Ebeid Hospice Residence, 5200 Harroun Rd.
