Daniel J. Slater

Daniel J. Slater, 57, former resident of Weston and Genoa, Ohio, passed away Saturday evening, August 12, 2023, at his home in Elmore, Ohio. He is the son of James F. and Sharen N. (Klein) Slater, born in Toledo, Ohio on September 19, 1965. He graduated from Genoa Area Local Schools in 1984 and attended Terra State Community College. He received his journeyman’s card as an industrial electrician and worked for several area companies.

Dan enjoyed the outdoors no matter what the activity was, including working in the yard, canoeing, and his favorite pastime, biking. He also took great pride in his vehicles, maintaining them down to the smallest detail.

Dan is survived by his mother, Sharen N. Martin, father, James F. Slater, sons, Ryan (Charissa) Moll and Christian Slater, grandchildren, Lily, Joshua and Sam, and his brother, Steven (Monica) Slater, aunt, Karen (Joe) Stec, and cousins, Tina (Rick) Hacker, Melissa (Dave) Gratz, and Deric Slater. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert & Betty Slater and Bill & Vivian Klein.

Visitation for Dan will be held from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM, Saturday, August 26, 2023, at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 West St., Genoa, Ohio, followed by a memorial service at 12:00 PM. The family suggests memorial contributions for Dan be directed to the Humane Society of Wood County, 801 Van Camp Road, Bowling Green, Ohio 43402.
