Daniel George Sellers

Sellers Daniel George Daniel George Sellers, age 75, passed away Tuesday, January 15, 2008 at Swan Creek Retirement Village. Dan was born in Dayton, Ohio on February 14, 1932 to George and Grace McGuire Sellers. He graduated from Purdue University with a degree in Chemical Engineering. On June 13, 1954 Dan married Janet Penniston. Following 2 years in the Army, serving in Japan, Dan enjoyed a satisfying career in the chemical industry being employed by Celanese, Allied Chemical, Plaskon, and Sun Oil. He retired from Sun Oil in January, 2000. Dan was a member of Christ Presbyterian Church where he was active as an Elder, Clerk of Session, Stephens Minister, and served on many committees. Dans two greatest joys at Christ Presbyterian were coaching the church softball team and working with the preschoolers at the MOPS program. He was active into his early 70s playing softball, tennis, and golf. Dan was a loving, gentle husband, father, and grandfather. He was blessed with many friends and had a kind word and a smile for everyone. Dan is survived by his wife, Janet; sons, Duane Jane of Lafayette, Indiana and Dean Emma of Baltimore, Maryland; daughter, Kristina Jeff Keeler; grandchildren, Kelly Shane Weist, Lori Sellers, Danielle Keeler, Eric Keeler, and Mica Sellers; and brother, Richard Sellers of Seaford, Delaware. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, David. Visitation will be Friday, January 18, 2008 from 4-8:00 pm at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Ave. west of Corey Rd.. A memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, January 19th at Christ Presbyterian Church, 4225 W. Sylvania Ave., Toledo, OH. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Christ Presbyterian Church or Swan Creek Retirement Village.
