Daniel Leonard Gilbert

Daniel L. Gilbert, 62, of Northwood, Ohio, formerly of Lima, Ohio passed away on Friday, October 6, 2023 at 8:45 a.m. He was born September 27, 1961, in Bluffton, Ohio to the late Leonard A. and N. Jane (Deardorff) Gilbert.

Dan graduated from Lima Technical College earning his degree in mechanical engineering. He was employed as a corrections officer. Dan enjoyed attending church and was an avid motorcycle enthusiast.

He is survived by siblings Larry and Sheila Gilbert, a nephew John Gallaspie, and special friends Jeff and Jean.

Visitation will be at Witzler-Shank-Walker Funeral Home, 222 E. South Boundary St., Perrysburg, Ohio on Sunday, October 15, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. with a service to follow at 5:00 p.m. Service will be officiated by Pastor John Hall and Howard Webb.

Graveside service will be Monday, October 16 at 1:00 p.m. in Lima at Memorial Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Paws and Whiskers animal shelter or a church of the donor’s choice.
