Daniel "Dan" Lee Petersen

Daniel “Dan” Lee Petersen, age 70, a life long resident of Curtice, Ohio passed away on Friday, April 29, 2022 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg, Ohio.  Dan was born in Toledo, Ohio on August 21, 1951 to Lester and Erma (Auxter) Petersen.  He was a 1969 graduate of Genoa Area High School and was in the Army National Guard Reserves.  Dan was a 3 ^rd generation farmer and always lived on the family farm, where he raised crops and cattle.  He retired from Chrysler after 37 years and was an active member at St. John Lutheran Church in Williston.   Dan enjoyed watching sprint car and NASCAR racing and even racing his own 67’ Camaro.

Dan is survived by his children, Nicole (Kevin) Newlove, Shawn Petersen and Sara (Matt) Petersen; grandchildren, Blake, Audra, Sadie and Sidnie; ex wife, Ruth Petersen and dear friend, Nancy Buckley.  He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Mary Lynn Staton.

Visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 pm on Friday, May 6, 2022 at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home, 501 West Street, Genoa, Ohio.  The funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, May 7, 2022 at St. John Lutheran Church, 21140 Sr- 579, Williston, Ohio.  Interment will be in Allen Township Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Jude or the Wounded Warriors.  Online condolences may be given at www.walkerfuneralhomes.com.
