Daniel "Dan" Blodgett passed away peacefully at his home on December 20, 2024. Born on April 3, 1965, in Toledo, OH. Dan was a beloved husband, father, and friend.
After graduating from high school, Dan earned his home inspection certificate and embarked on a diverse career. He worked at Lucky Steer, Center Market, Hubbard Lumber, Globe Furniture, Office Depot, and spent the last 18 years at Ace Sanitation.
Dan married the love of his life, Peggy, on February 3, 1990, after being set up on a blind date. They shared 34 wonderful years together. Dan was known for his kindness, humor, and the way he welcomed everyone as family.
He had a passion for tending to his yard and a knack for home improvement projects, with a particular talent for electrical work. Dan found relaxation in simple pleasures. He loved spending time in the pool or hot tub, unwinding after a long day. He cherished time spent at home with his family. Dan loved traveling with camping being one of his favorite destinations. He enjoyed the simplicity and peace of sitting by the fire, sharing stories, and enjoying the great outdoors.
Dan loved liver and onions, peanut M&M's, and Snowcaps. He often fell asleep watching "Family Guy", a show that never failed to make him laugh. He was a huge fan of Elvis, having visited Graceland twice. He also, visited the happiest place on earth, Disney World. Dan was an avid fan of "Star Wars" and "Star Trek," enjoying the adventures and stories from these iconic franchises. He also had a love for classic movies, appreciating the timeless stories and performances.
Dan was preceded in death by his father, Robert Blodgett; brother, Steven Blodgett; and niece, Jennifer Blodgett. He is survived by his wife, Peggy; sons, Jacob and David; daughter, Krystal; mother, Cleta Sue Blodgett; brothers, Mike (Tina), and Kevin Blodgett; sister-in-law, Michelle Blodgett; grandsons, Joshua and Atlas Blodgett; nieces, Sarah (Chad) Roper, Angela (Kyle) Clemens, and Amanda Blodgett; nephews, Nathan (Kristen) Blodgett, Kevin Blodgett, and Brian Blodgett; great nephews, Mason, Noah, and Lucas Myers, Liam Watson, Kyle Clemens Jr., and Jack Blodgett; and great nieces, Josephine Roper, Josie Blodgett, Kaitlyn, Emily, Aubrey, and Mya.
Family and friends may visit Saturday, December 28, 2024, from 9 am- 12 pm at Maison Dardenne Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant St. The Memorial Service for Dan will begin at 12 pm. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery.
