Dane Leon Reid Born February 03,1949 Died May 19, 2021 Dane passed early on Wednesday, May 19th at Perrysburg Hospice. He leaves behind his children Marc (Michelle) Reid, Megan (Kevin) Reid and grandchildren Josephine, Maxwell and Demetrios. He also leaves his brother Earl (Cornelia) Reid, nephews and nieces Jeff, Jon, and Kelly Reid, Kari (Greg) Vanchure and sister-in-law Doris Reid, former wife Julie Fieldman and many other cousins and extended family members too numerous to mention. He was preceded in death by his parents Earl and Mary Reid, brother Lauren, and sister Mary Kathleen Reid. The family thanks Perrysburg Hospice, Karen LaPlante, Jennifer Loomis and the many individuals who assisted Dane during his illness, their help, care and concern are greatly appreciated. Dane worked at Libbey Glass and at GM Powertrain as an electrician. Dane’s greatest love was spending time with family, especially his grandson Demetrios, they would spend time going to garage sales and estate sales always looking for the best deals on anything that they saw as “needed”. Dane loved riding motorcycles in his youth and believed that those moments often gave him a feeling of freedom from worries and concerns of life. Dane was a Navy medic who worked initially at Great Lakes Naval Hospital in emergency room and ICU area assisting wounded from Vietnam. He was later assigned to the Fleet Marine Force as a medic and served with the marines until his discharge from the Navy. A Memorial Mass will be held Friday May 28, 2021 at 10:30 am at St. Rose Catholic Church, 215 E. Front Street, Perrysburg, Ohio. After the mass, military honors will be conducted outside of the church. Inurnment will be at a later date. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Witzler-Shank-Walker Funeral Home, Perrysburg. There will be a wake service on Friday, May 28th after the Mass at 6400 S. Dixie Hwy Erie, Michigan 48133 from 1:00-5:00pm.
