Dallas M. Hatfield

Dallas M. Hatfield, 87, of Northwood, passed away on Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at Bay Park Hospital. Dallas was born in Whitley, Kentucky to Arch and Martha (Douglas) Hatfield. He married his beloved wife, Viola (Lawson) Hatfield and she preceded him in death. He was a Car Man for the Norfolk & Southern Railroad for 36 years. Dallas was a member of Old Fashion Missionary Baptist Church, but attended Athens Missionary Baptist Church. He loved cars, both vintage and new and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Surviving are his daughter, Deborah (Simey) Compton; his grandchildren, Savannah and Nathan Compton; and sister-in-law, Iva Dean Hatfield. He was preceded in death by his wife, Viola and many siblings. Friends and family will be received on Friday, February 12, 2016 from 2:00-8:00 pm. at the Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, 701 N. Main St. Walbridge, Ohio 43465 (419-666-3121). Funeral services for Dallas will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, February 13, 2016 at 11:00 am. Burial will take place at Lake Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Old Fashion Missionary Baptist Church or Athens Missionary Baptist Church.
