Dale L Vanpelt

Dale LeRoy VanPelt, age 80, of Monclova, Ohio passed away Friday, July 31, 2009 in Hospice of Northwest Ohio Perrysburg. He was born September 25, 1928 in Toledo to LeRoy and Ivadelle Cowell VanPelt. Dale served in the US Navy during WWII. He was employed by Doehler Jarvis for 35 years. Upon his retirement, Dale loved his cottage where he enjoyed fishing, boating and Western Square Dancing. Dale was a talented wood carver who enjoyed giving his carvings to family and friends. He carved with the Black Swamp Carvers and the Sculptors Guild. Dale is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Virginia VanPelt whom he married July 28, 1951; son, Ken Regena VanPelt; daughters, Dianne Tim Stroshine and Gail Bill Burgess; grandchildren, Myron Staci, Mickey Erica, Sean Stacie, Ashley Randy, Kimberly and Matthew; great grandchildren, Julie, Peyton, Landon and River; brother, Gary DeJ VanPelt; and sisters, Jean Daly and Karron Bob DeHart. In addition to his parents, Dale was preceded in death by his sister, Doris Wendt. Family and friends may visit Monday, August 3, 2009 from 2:00 pm until the time of the Funeral Service at 7:00 pm in the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant Street, Maumee, OH.
