Dale Allen Shafer

Dale Allen Shafer, 65, passed away peacefully on December 19, 2024, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. He was born in Toledo, Ohio on December 10, 1959, and adopted by Robert and Evelyn (Rufenacht) Shafer.

Dale met his beautiful wife Sheri Oswald at a popular dance club. They married on July 16, 1985. After forty years of marriage Sheri preceded him in death in May 2022.

A 1978 graduate of Maumee High School, Dale entered the electrical trade and was employed by numerous different electrical contractors throughout his career. Always willing to “make a buck,” Dale often completed side jobs for customers wanting various projects completed. After retiring from the electrical trade, he went to work at his favorite hardware store, Bayer Hardware. He continued his passion for helping people with projects there. When not at work, Dale was often trying to conjure up ways he could help his kids tackle their own home improvement projects.

Dale was a very practical man and blessed with the ability to fix most things. He was known for never wanting to trash anything but fix it, repair it and repurpose it. Dale enjoyed working with his hands and always enjoyed tinkering with something.

Dale was a very particular man who loved cotton clothing, hot food hot, sharing good conversations, dogs, lending helping hands to family members and friends, and spending time with his beloved Brittany Spaniel, Bentley.

Surviving is his mother, Evelyn; daughter Tiffany (Adam) Henry; and grandchildren Reagan, Lincoln, and Riley Henry. Dale’s father Robert along with Dale’s beautiful wife Sheri preceded him in death.

Family and friends will be received in the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home 501 Conant St., on Thursday, December 26, 2024, starting at 3:00 PM and concluding with funeral services at 6:00 PM. Committal will be private.
