Dale I. Myers

Myers Dale Dale Myers, age 91, of West Park Place, passed away May 1, 2008 at Hospice of Toledo. He was born near Hoytville, OH on November 17, 1916 to Park and Mabel Myers. He graduated from Jackson Township School in Hoytville before joining the Army and serving during WWII in the European Theater of Operations. He was a welder during most of his working years, first for Willys Motors and later at Haughton Elevators, from which he retired in 1981. Dale enjoyed bowling and was active in several different legion leagues after his retirement. He also loved fishing on Lake Erie and traveling. Dale was a member of the American Legion and a life member of Pond Post #99. Dale is survived by a brother, Gerald Jerry Myers and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Harriett Myers; a sister, Edna Shafer; and brothers, Carl and Harold Myers. Visitation will be Sunday from 1-6:00pm at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. west of Corey Rd. where funeral services will be held on Monday 10:00am. Interment will follow at Portage Township Cemetery in Jerry City, OH. Expressions of sympathy may be given to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
