Dale John Layman

Dale John Layman, age 80, of Maumee, OH died Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at St. Lukes Hospital. He was born on August 7, 1932 in Luckey, OH to Henry and Julia Sander Layman. Dale worked as a journeyman electrician for Local 8 IBEW. He was on various church committees at Lutheran Church of the Master and Zoar Lutheran. Dale was a member of Perrysburg Kiwanis, Lions Club in Pioneer, OH and also helped organize the Cub Scout Pack #259 in Perrysburg of which he was a Pack Leader. He enjoyed collecting old toy Tonka trucks, John Deere memorabilia and antiquing. Dale also enjoyed family camping trips and visiting the Amish Country. He was a wonderful husband, dad, grandfather and friend to many and will be forever missed. Dale is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Mary; children, Douglas Jody; Pamela Bob Gallion; Becky Larry-Michael Hackenberg; Steven Akenberger; Cheryl Hunt Sears; Michael Kathy Akenberger; granchildren; Ryan, Meghan, Stephanie John, Dana Derek, Connie Jon, Kristopher, Jeffery Stephanie, Karla Anthony, Andrew, Kyle, Kurt Andrea, Todd Cathy, Mark, Ben, Hunter; 10 great-grandchildren;, sister-in-law, Arlene Layman; nieces, Joyce Hart and Kay Jim Brueggemier; nephew, Dennis Cathy Layman; and dog, Misty. He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Mark D. Layman; brothers, Ronald and Rolland; sister, Arlu Monke; and mother-in-law, Florence Bodary. Friends may visit the family at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home 501 Conant St. Maumee on Friday, August 17, 2012 from 3pm - 8pm. Funeral services be held at Zoar Lutheran Church, Perrysburg, Ohio on Saturday, August 18, 2012 at 10am.
