Dale Jensen

Dale Jensen, 76, of Port Clinton, Ohio died peacefully on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at Firelands Regional Medical Center, Sandusky, Ohio. He was born on February 21, 1948 in Port Clinton, to Hans “Jack” and Laurabelle (Moore) Jensen.

Dale graduated from Port Clinton High School in 1966. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from 1967-1971. In San Diego in 1971, he completed a course of study in computer programming from Coleman College. He was a graduate of Terra Technical College with an associate’s degree in Robotics. Dale was retired from the Civilian Marksmanship Program, Camp Perry.

In 1982, he became a very active member of Playmakers Civic Theatre, Port Clinton, where he served in numerous roles including Building Manager, Technical Director and President. He constructed many, many sets for PCT. In 1999, the Dale Award was created to honor Dale and one hard working Techie each year there-after. In 2013 Dale was awarded the Ohio Community Theatre Association’s Spirit Award honoring dedication and commitment to community theatre.

Dale is survived by his wife of twenty-six years, Nadine (Hanes) Jensen; stepson, Jason Weeks; step-granddaughter, Jessica Weeks; sister, Brenda (Terry) Coates; brother, Allen (Randi) Jensen; sister-in-law, Cindy Jensen; brother-in-law, Doug Hanes, and sister-in-law, Anita Hanes; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Dale was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Gary: and special “adopted” mother, Katie Joreski Chafee.

A Memorial Service for Dale will be held on Thursday, May 23, 2024 at the Port Clinton Yacht Club, 127 Brooklyn Avenue. Ballroom doors will open at 5:30 pm followed by services to begin promptly at 6:30 pm.
