Dale Brummitt

Dale M Brummitt, 89, of Toledo, died Saturday March 27, 2010 at St Lukes hospital following surgery for a fall. Dale was Born December 27 1920, in Toledo; he was the son of the late Myron Brummitt who was a letter carrier in Toledo, later retiring to Tavares FL and Maud Stalcup Brummitt. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Marion Moore Brummitt and grandchildren, Christopher and Kayla. He was a graduate of Libbey High School and also involved with Alfred Lawsons Direct Credits Society where he met Marion in the Drum and Bugle Corp. Mr. Brummitt served in both the European and Pacific theaters during World War II. Dale was a fuller brush salesman after the war, then an Electrolux sales and service representative for over 40 years. He was also the Toledo branch manager for Electrolux, in the 70s. Dale loved life, people and his work. He would often say its not work, its like visiting friends all day. He serviced his Electrolux customers with dedication, enthusiasm and pride. His area, mostly northwestern Ohio took him where ever his customers were. Electrolux is now known as Aarus Home Care Products having sold its name to Swedish brands about 10 years ago. Dale attended North Cove Boulevard Church of God, now called Heritage Church of God, Maumee, OH and more recently Shiloh Christian Union Church, Delta, OH. Dale is survived by his sister, Lois Brummitt of Tavares, FL; his 3 children, Lynn Mike Buchele of Grand Rapids, OH, Gary Brummitt of Anderson, IN and Randy Pam Brummitt of Overland Park, KS; and four grandchildren, Todd Willingham of Toledo, OH and Tamara Willingham, Seattle, WA., McKenzie and Nathan Brummitt of Kansas. Visitation will be at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Road, west of Corey Rd. Friday April 2nd, 2 to 8 pm. The funeral will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday April 3rd. at Walker Funeral Home, 419-841-2422. Interment will be at the Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
