Dale Emerson Aldrich, 77, passed peacefully at home on May 25, 2017, after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was born at home in Genoa, Ohio, November 26, 1939, to Roy and Ruth (Huston) Aldrich. On July 19, 1958, he married Myrna Rae Brown and she survives. Together they raised their five children: sons, Dale II (Terri), Tim (Donna), Dave (Meredith) and Rich (Lori MacRitchie), and daughter, Lisa Brackett (Bill); all survive. He is also survived by his sisters, Pat Gentry, Lillian Hahn, Nancy Hess (Gene) and eight grandchildren: Brandon (Brandi), Elliot (Nicole), Daniel, Jimmy, Sophie, Carly and Jewel Aldrich and Tricia (Chris) Kline; three great grandchildren, and six step-grandchildren and their children. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandson, Troy Aldrich, and infant brother, Richard Aldrich. Dale dedicated his life to Jehovah in 1975 and attended the Oak Harbor Congregation of Jehovahs Witnesses. He enjoyed playing guitar and singing and was a member of the band Briarhoppers from the early 60s until the early nineties, playing regularly at Ole Zims Wagon Shed in Fremont, Ohio. Dale was an electrician by trade, retiring from Chrysler of Perrysburg in 2001. After retirement he and Myrna spent most of their winters in Kissimmee, Florida, where he continued playing guitar and singing karaoke at the Great Oak RV resort, area flea markets and senior centers. He enjoyed his family and many friends and never met a stranger. He will be greatly missed by many. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m., Monday, May 29, 2017, at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 West St., Genoa. The funeral service will be conducted 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, May 30, 2017, in the funeral home with burial to follow in Clay Township Cemetery.
