Cynthia Nelson

Cindi M. (Cassaubon) Nelson passed away on June 19, 2026 at the age of 56. Born in Toledo to the late Roselynn (McDowell) and late Norman, and raised in Rossford, OH, where she was a member of the class of 1987.

Cindi was a shift manager at the Kewadin Casino in Manistique, MI. She was also volunteer firefighter and EMT for the Doyle Township Department in Michigan.

Cindi loved spending time with family and friends, taking in nature and exploring the many waterfalls the U.P. has to offer, she could usually be seen taking pictures of everything around her. One of her favorite things was watching the Christmas in July movies on the Hallmark Channel. Cindi loved her cows and especially coming up with their unique names.

Cindi touched the lives of everyone who had the honor of knowing her. Her warmth and generous spirit is what drew people to her, and will be truly missed.

Cindi leaves behind her loving husband of 37 years, Jim. She was a proud and loving mother to Shianne and Andrew; also a wonderful grandmother to Carson, Zoey, Addyson, and Shaelynn. She was a beloved sister to Tom (Cindy), Tim (Karen) and Becky.

She lived a life marked by compassion, strength and deep devotion to family and friends.

Cindi gave in death as she as she gave in life; as her final act of kindness was to give the gift of life through organ and tissue donation.

A celebration of life will be held at the Sujkowski- Walker Funeral home in Rossford on Tuesday June 23, 2026 from 5pm - 8pm. As Cindi's favorite color was blue, please wear blue (any shade) as support for her family.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Diabetes Association in Cindi's name.
