Cynthia L. Aurand, 65, of Williston, Ohio, died Thursday evening, July 24, 2014, at Mercy-St. Charles Hospital in Oregon, Ohio. Cynthia was born December 8, 1948, in Port Clinton, Ohio, to Robert and Dorothy (Cramer) Aurand. Cynthia became a resident of the Luther Home of Mercy on October 10, 1949 at the age of 10 months, making her one of the youngest residents admitted to the home. During her 64 years at the Luther Home, she enjoyed many activities and formed lifelong friendships. Cynthia also had a unique sense of humor and curiosity that many enjoyed. Many will also remember her for her butterfly kisses! Cynthia is survived by her sisters, Carolyn (Dave) Baldwin and Bette (Dave) Wistinghausen both of Oak Harbor, Cheryl (Gregory) Peterson of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, and seven nieces and nephews. Her parents preceded her in death. A funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 28, 2014, at the Luther Home of Mercy chapel with Pastor Alvera Brandt officiating. Visitation will be in the chapel from 8:30-10 a.m. prior to the service. Private interment will take place in Salem Township Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor.
