Craig James Mahaffey

Craig J. Mahaffey, son of Daniel and Carol Mahaffey, was born in Detroit, Michigan on February

28, 1956, and died unexpectedly at home in Sylvania, Ohio on September 23, 2026.

Craig earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Western Michigan University where he studied

medical technology and biochemical science. Subsequently, he worked for thirty-three years at

ProMedica Health System, serving ten hospitals in Toledo, Ohio, as a Pathology Manager,

Pathology CoPath System Manager, and Senior Consultant. Craig was a loving father and brother.

He possessed a sharp wit and a wonderful sense of humor. He enjoyed cooking, maintaining a

beautiful home, and raising his son. He played hockey and was an avid Detroit sports fan; he was

especially fond of the Detroit Lions. Surviving are his brother Patrick Mahaffey (wife Nina), sisterin-

law Patricia Mahaffey, his closest friend Lou Knapp, and three cherished dogs. Deceased is his

brother Steven Mahaffey.
