Craig A. Helvoigt HELVOIGT Craig A. Craig A. Helvoigt, 46, of Toledo passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 4, 2007, surrounded by his loving family. Craig graduated from DeVilbiss High School in 1978. He went on to a career servicing industrial cleaning equipment. Craig spent the last 10 months battling cancer with a strong faith and his unusual humor. He was the clown of chemo and had a great appreciation for the Flower Hospital Oncology nurses. Craig met his future wife at 17 and from that moment on they faced all of lifes joys and sorrows as one. Craig loved flying, camping, paintball with his son, singing in his church choir and the Praise Him Quartet. Mostly he loved being a father and husband. Craig was a man of very strong faith and had been a member of Mayfair-Plymouth Congregational Christian Church for 27 years. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 21 years, Mary; daughters, Rebecca and Erica Chad Adams; son, Adam. He also leaves behind brother, Charles Cindy Helvoigt of Durango, CO; sister, Carol Helvoigt of Toledo; a loving extended family and friends and an unbelievable caring and loving church family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Treva Helvoigt and a sister, Cynthia. Friends may visit the family on Friday from 2-9 p.m. at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. and on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. at Mayfair-Plymouth Congregational Christian Church. Funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Mayfair-Plymouth Congregational Christian Church. Interment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Mayfair-Plymouth Mission Board Helvoigt funeral expense. The family wishes to thank with the greatest of thanks the Flower Hospital Oncology nurses, the Flower Hospital I.C.U. nurses and the greatest team of doctors anyone could ask for.
