Cory A Cook

February 5, 1989 — January 15, 2017

Cory A. Cook, 27 of Perrysburg, Ohio Death does not come when a body is too exhausted to live. Death comes, because the brilliance inside us can only be contained for so long. In the early morning of January 15th 2017, Cory Aaron Cook died of an accidental overdose after a heroic battle with addiction. Cory had been sober for months and was making promising strides towards regaining control of his life. Cory was not just a brother, not just a son, not just a friend. He was an inspiration to those who were lucky enough to know him. He was a kind, gentle soul who would go out of his way to help anyone in need. He was the light at the center of any group, always having something profound, witty, and hilarious to say from behind that curtain of hair. His smile and his laugh were infectious. He was a promising musician, speaking volumes through his music. Even though he struggled every day with his pain and his addiction, his friends and family will no doubt remember him as that easygoing guy, guitar in hand, smile on his face, and a song in his heart. We have all been blessed to have had him in our lives. We ask that if you are struggling with addiction in any way, as an individual or as a family, please reach out. You are not alone! Let us bring this epidemic into the light through education and awareness. Let us be a part of the solution so that we can begin the healing process for everyone. We are involved with an amazing group of people that take Support above and beyond. Team Recovery and FAAD (Families after Addiction or Death) have been a lifeline for us in so many ways. Please if you need help reach out! 419-561-LIFE Cory was born on February 5, 1989 in Toledo to Gene and Bobbi (Sloyer) Cook.
