Cordon C. Daye, age 80, of Holland, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at Spring Meadows Nursing Home, Holland, Ohio. He was born in Adrian, Michigan on October 30, 1935 to Sidney John and Ina (Dunsmore) Daye. He earned his Bachelors Degree in Education from Bowling Green State University, then obtained his Masters degree from Eastern Michigan University and attended classes towards his Ed.D. Cordon taught Industrial Arts at Washington Local Schools, Jefferson Junior High from 1966-1977, Whitmer High School from 1977-1985 and Washington Junior High from 1985-1987. Cordon, “Corky”, was a life member of the NRA, a member of the Adam Conservation Club since 1973 and was named Mr. Toledo in body building in the 1960s. An avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping with family and friends, he shared his passion for living with all those around him. Cordon is survived by his daughter, Valerie Ann Black of Bowling Green and grandchildren, Rhys J. and Kieryn W. Black. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Anna Marie (Martin); granddaughter Symonne Daye Black; and brother Douglas Visitation will be held from 3-8 pm on Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant Street, Maumee, Ohio with a Masonic Service to be held at 7pm and a Memorial service to be held at 7:30 pm. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the Adams Conservation Club Junior Program or to the family for his grandchildrens education expenses.
