Cora L. Digby, 104, of Oak Harbor, died Sunday May 29, 2011 at Otterbien North Shore Retirement Community. Cora was born January 3, 1907 in Tontogany, Ohio to John and Yettie Volmar Burditt. On March 31, 1929 in Tontogany, Ohio, she married Edwin Digby, and he preceded her in death on March 28, 1978. For 28 years Cora was a school teacher for the Genoa Area Local School District. She loved to take care of her flowers in the garden, knit, and play golf at the Oak Harbor Golf Club. Cora was also a member of the Eastern Star Chapter in Genoa, Ohio where she had recently received her 80 year pin Cora is survived by her son, Dr. Thomas Barbro Digby of Newton, New Jersey, daughter, Susan A. Paul Pope-Bitter of Port Clinton, Ohio, 10 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Judith Digby, and sisters, Evelyn, Edna, Myrtle, Clara, Helen, and Nellie. The family would like to thank Jane Kemp, M.J. Meadows, and all her caregivers throughout the past years for their care and support. Visitation for Cora will be Tuesday May 31, 2011 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. in the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home and Crematory, Oak Harbor. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday June 1, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will take place in Washington Township Cemetery, Tontogany, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society, St. John United Church of Christ, Genoa, Ohio, or the Genoa Area Local Schools Scholarship Foundation.
