Converse W Keefer, Sr.

CONVERSE W. KEEFER, SR. Converse Keefer, Sr., age 81, of Swanton passed away on September 20, 2013 at Munson Medical Center, Traverse City, MI. Converse was born in Toledo on December 10, 1931 to Earl & Maude (Converse) Keefer. He worked for Local 1138 as a Carpenter and cabinet maker for many years retiring in 1992. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War where he served as a Corporal and Radio Operator, he was also a member of the Swanton American Legion Post 479. During his spare time, he served as Scout Master for Troop 145, and enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Surviving is his loving wife, Mary Lou; Children, Converse W. Keefer, Jr.; Paul (Jeri) Keefer; Louis (Pam) Keefer; Tony (Connie) Keefer; Jeff Keefer; Dorothy Keefer; Fred (Brooke) Keefer; 13 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 1 brother and 2 sisters. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers. Friends will be received in the Neville Funeral Home, 7438 Airport Highway, Holland (419-865-8879) from 3-8 pm Thursday where funeral services will be held at 11 am Friday, September 27, 2013. Burial will follow at Springfield Township Cemetery. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Boy Scouts of America.
