“There are two ways of spreading light. Be the light or be a mirror that reflects it.” ~ Edith Wharton. Connie was always the light! She brought joy and Jesus to everyone around her. She loved cooking, baking, singing, playing piano, being with family, and the list goes on and on. She attended Covenant United Presbyterian Church for most of her life, as well as Christ Presbyterian where she loved playing the piano and being a part of the choir at both.
Connie met her husband, Bob Terry, at Vineyard Lake. They loved spending time with family and friends there. She enjoyed waking up early on Saturday and Sunday mornings and making a pot of coffee, poached eggs, and her world-famous New Orleans beignets. She was also a top chef at making hot fudge, any pie, cookies, and bean soup.
All of her grandchildren attended and graduated from college. She sent every single one of them special care packages throughout their college years. These care packages were full of the best things! They were always topped off with a letter from her letting them know what she was up to, asking what they were up to, and telling them that she loved them with all of her heart.
She spent a lot of time volunteering at many different organizations. Most notably, she was the president of the Flower Hospital Auxiliary for several years. She loved sewing and knitting. She made everyone in the family Christmas stockings that still hang on their mantels every December. She also made hats, scarves, shirts, and blankets that she would donate to local organizations.
Connie is survived by her daughters, Kay Shaw, Cindy (Bruce) Quatman, and Sue (Mike) Remer; grandchildren, Ryan (Vanita) Shaw, Kelley (Heather) Shaw, Amanda (John) Bussa, Kiel (Colleen) Quatman, Paul (Jaime) Quatman, Lori (Joe) Bolyard, Leigh (Adam) Pancoast, Ben (Amy) Remer, and Ashley (Ross) Stambaugh; great-grandchildren, Logan and Ava Shaw, Brody and Jace Shaw, Grace, Ava, and Audrey Urban, Olivia and Alexander Bussa, Bear, Ivo, Ezra, and Sunni Quatman, Emmy and Jay Quatman, Isaiah, Landon, and Eli Bolyard, Hudson, Harrison, and Hamilton Pancoast, Beyla, Benzen, Bexley, and Brigston Remer, Lawson, Ledger, and Piper Stambaugh. She was preceded in death by her husband, J. Robert Terry; parents, Helen and Arnold Dreher; brothers, Arnold and David Dreher; and great-granddaughter, Remington Remer.
