Constance “Connie” Marie Slack passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on May 3rd, 2023.
Connie was born on April 4, 1934, to Paul and Mary Ann (Draucker) Coyne. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend who touched the lives of many with her warmth, kindness, and wisdom. Born in Brazil, raised in New York City and St. Petersburg, Florida, Connie eventually settled and built a life in Toledo, Ohio. Connie worked for many years at Ohio Bell company. She also worked as a dedicated bus driver before she decided to fully retire. Her true passion and joy came from her family. She was devoted to her children and eventually her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She cherished spending time with her family and creating memories that would last a lifetime. She was known for her quiet kindness, steadfastness, and compassion; her steady presence was always available to her family should they need any support or guidance. Connie possessed a lifelong love of learning. She was an avid reader who always enjoyed learning about the world around her. She had a deep love and respect for nature and for animals. She was devoted to caring for her many feline companions.
Connie leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and resilience. Her memory and legacy will be treasured by her children Edwin (Melissa) Slack, Deborah Slack, Gregory (Diane) Slack, and Tami (Mark) Riegger, her beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends who were fortunate enough to know her.
In honoring Connie's wishes, private interment will be held for immediate family members.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to a local animal shelter in memory of Constance Marie Slack.
