Constance L. Johnson

Connie Sander Johnson, of Sylvania, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, September 12, 2023. She was born on July 5, 1942, in Toledo, Ohio to LaVerne (Edwards) Sander and William Sander. Connie was raised in Toledo and graduated from DeVilbiss High School. Connie was passionate about volunteering for many different organizations, including Mobile Meals, Flower Hospital Gift Shop, Baskets of Care, and Nightingales Harvest. Connie’s trademark laughter, sense of fun, and devotion to her friends and family will be dearly missed.

Connie was preceded in death by her husband, John Johnson, and her parents. Connie is survived by her loving and devoted daughter, Beth Chase, sisters Bev (Larry) Kahl, and Susan (Jim) Sponsler, nieces and nephew, Leanne Dunlap, Jennifer Sponsler, Julie (Dan) Kunos, and Matthew Sponsler, and great nephews and nieces, Quinn and Colin Dunlap, Addie and Ben Kunos, and Meredith and Gwen Sponsler.

Visitation will be held at Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Avenue, Toledo on Monday, September 18, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. A Celebration of Life service will begin at 12:30 p.m. also at Walker.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Nightingales Harvest at 2820 West Alexis, Toledo, OH 43613. Her family would like to thank the nursing staff on the 5thFloor of Flower Hospital for the excellent care they gave to Connie.
