Colleen R. Shenkel

Colleen R. Shenkel, 90, of Port Clinton, OH, passed away, Sunday, January 21, 2018 at Edgewood Manor Nursing Center. Colleen was born on June 27, 1927 in Sandusky, OH, the daughter of Richard H. and Edna G. (Lengacher) Hees. On December 01, 1946 at the Port Clinton Methodist Church, she married Frederick Shenkel and he preceded her in death on March 06, 2005. Colleen worked as a sales person for the Spiegal’s Store, Montgomery Ward’s and Deluxe Cleaners all in Defiance, OH. She especially loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She lived, she laughed, she loved! Those left to cherish her memory are: Sons: Bruce (Paula) Shenkel, Mark (Suzanne) Shenkel and Richard (Sandra) Shenkel; Daughter: Alice (Keith) Dill; 8 Grandchildren; 13 Great-Grandchildren and 2 Great Great-Grandchildren; Sister: Norma Jean (Richard) Winke, Sister-In_Law, Ruby Shenkel, and good friend, Judy Brown. Colleen was preceded in death by her parents, husband and infant brother: John Hees. Visitation will be 2-6 p.m., Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home Crematory, Port Clinton, OH. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Defiance, OH. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Stein Hospice, Sandusky, OH.
